Michael Thomas Collins of Melstone, Montana (formerly of Kellogg, Idaho) went home to be with his Lord on November 9th, 2017 from cancer. He was the eleventh child born in St. Ignatius, Mt. to H. Frederick Collins and Genevieve Margaret (Schelin) Collins on April 19, 1948. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, John Clarence Paulson, Larry Evan, and Frederick Lewis Collins and 2 sisters, Marion Faye (Collier) and Barbara Dorothy (Trotter), several nieces and nephews, brothers and sister in laws. He is survived by 1 brother, Keith (Pat) Collins, of Osburn, Idaho and 6 sisters, Bernadine Lee Lovell, of St. Ignatius, Mt. LaVonne Estelle Williams, of Pasco, Washington, Alice Dannetta (David) Wynne of Newkirk Oklahoma, Cherie Dawn Pierce, of Great Falls, Mt., Maxine Joyce Starr-Sebastian of Stoughton, Wisconsin and Rebecca Jo Collins of Post Falls, Idaho. Mike never married or had any children of his own, but was a fatherly figure to all his nieces and nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly. Mike was mostly raised around Kellogg area and worked at the Sunshine Mine in Big Creek, Idaho for several years before moving to Melstone, Montana, helping his nephews on the Collier ranch. He was dearly loved and respected by his very large family and, not only by them, but also by so many wonderful friends. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts and he will be sorely missed by us all. We would like to thank Bruce (Debbie) Kaber, of Laurel, Mt. and Rich, Sylvia and Nova Lee Metzger of Melstone, Mt. for all the love and care they showed him through his illness. Memorial services will be held Melstone, Mt. on Nov. 14th, at 3 pm and also in Kellogg, Idaho on Saturday the 18th of November at the Steelworkers Union Hall at 2pm. with potluck luncheon following services at the Sunshine Inn.
