Nadine LaVelle Parrish, 90

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Nadine LaVelle Parrish, 90, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away November 14, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society- Silver Wood Village of Silverton, Idaho. She was born September 15, 1927 in Mullan, Idaho; Nadine was the daughter of Walt and Bess (Brown) Almquist.

Nadine attended and graduated from the Mullan High School of Mullan in 1945. She has lived in the Silver Valley all of her life.

Nadine married Don Engebretson in 1946 in Superior, Montana; they later divorced. She then married Will Parrish in 1955 in Virginia City, Montana; Will passed away in 1988.

Nadine had first managed the Spragpole Bar & Grill of Murray, Idaho. She then along with her husband Will, owned and operated the Hill Top of Kingston and later the Lucky Horseshoe of Wallace. Nadine had also served as a cook for various restaurants including Mannon’s Restaurant of Rose Lake, Idaho. Lastly, she served as a bartender at the Smoke House of Wallace.

Nadine was a member of the Colville Washington Eagles and a member of the Red Hat Ladies. She loved and enjoyed her family, playing the piano, gardening and crocheting.

Nadine is survived by one son Dean “Ike” and Cheryll Parrish of Harrison, Idaho; four daughters Vonnie Engebretson of Pinehurst, Idaho, Kris and Gary Garitone of Mullan, Idaho, Terri and Mike Dexter of Wallace, Idaho and Wilma Wilson of Joplin, Missouri; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Will Parrish, one daughter Diane Parrish and one step-son Royal Parrish.

Memorial Services will be held at the Our Savior Lutheran Church of Pinehurst on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ken Bartle officiating. A reception/luncheon will be held in the basement of the Church following services; everyone is welcome.
