Shirley Iva Forsberg, 63

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Shirley Iva Forsberg, 63, of Cataldo, Idaho, passed away November 22, 2017 at the family home of Cataldo. She was born December 3, 1953 in Council, Idaho; Shirley was the daughter of Ellis Earl and Iva (McGarvey) Rivers.

Shirley moved to the Silver Valley with her family as a young girl from McCall, Idaho. She attended schools in Pinehurst and Kellogg.

Shirley married Ron D. Forsberg on February 6, 1970 in Pinehurst, Idaho.

Shirley was a homemaker, but had also worked at the Silver Valley Analytical Lab, as well as, Valley Building of Pinehurst.

Shirley spun alpaca wool from the alpaca Ron and Shirley had raised; she belonged to wool spinning, knitting and crocheting clubs in the Silver Valley. Shirley loved and enjoyed her family, crafts, fishing and taking rides in the mountains with Ron. She was self-less and was always there for Ron, the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley always wanted to go fishing with Ron, Kyle or the grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years Ron Forsberg of the family home of Cataldo; one son Kyle and Melanie Forsberg of Kingston, Idaho; one daughter Kellie and Chris Thompson of Post Falls, Idaho; five grandchildren Jordan, Katie, Kelsie, Ashlyn and McKenzie; three great-grandchildren Jed, Emily Jo and Dylan; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Lyle and Earl.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville, Idaho with Pastor Corey Berti officiating. A reception will be held in Pinehurst and announced at the service.
