It is with unimaginable grief we share the passing of Zachary Michael Daley, Nov. 1, 2017, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was a son, husband, father, brother, stepdad, uncle and wonderful friend. Zac was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Aug. 26, 1981, to Linda Lavigne Daley and John Daley.

He attended Canyon Grade School, Kellogg Middle and High School and North Idaho College. Zac was an extreme snowboarder, always going beyond the limit, and of course, out of bounds. After thoroughly enjoying life for a few years he joined the Idaho National Guard. He was then called to active duty Army, deployed to Mountain Home Air Force Base during the first Iraq War.

At the time of his passing, Zac was employed by Dantech Technology, but had worked in this field for many years for Meridian Systems in Anchorage and Intechtel in Coeur d’Alene. He also worked for Rocky Mountain Coasters building roller coasters in South Korea, New Jersey and Idaho, as well as working for The Altar Church in Coeur d’Alene, where he was a mentor.

Zac had a larger than life personality with a matching smile. He was always the person getting people together for gatherings or dinners or just to hang out for Green Bay Packers football games. He was kind and giving to a fault. Zac would defend a friend to the end.

Zac found happiness and love in Alaska with the love of his life, Amanda. They were inseparable. Raising Gabriel, McKenzie, Carter and Gemma was the focus of their lives. Amanda and Zac loved each other’s children as their own.

They loved fishing with their friends, Teresa, Rod, Tomas and Erica, and Genny, in Homer at Redemption. Date night Saturdays consisted of 20 “framily” members at their home playing games, eating wonderful meals together and laughing until their faces hurt. They spent summers at Priest Lake with Amanda’s family, and the Coeur d’Alene River with Zac’s family. Zac loved Alaska and was excited for his new life with Amanda. This tragedy has shocked and shaken us all to the core. He had no inkling this was looming. Amanda and Zac were signing for a new home that very day.

Zac is survived by his wife, Amanda Daley; son Carter Daley; daughter Gemma Daley; Gabriel Fisher and McKenzie Fisher; brother Ben (Nichole) Daley; Connor and Brooklyn, and parents Linda and John Daley.

A service and celebration of Zac’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at the Coeur d’Alene Elks Lodge, 1170 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene. There will be nourishment on all levels. All of Zac’s many friends and family are invited to attend. You know he would expect you to be there, and we would love to see you all.

Any memorial may be sent to an account for his children c/o Linda Daley, 10793 Thunder Road, Cataldo, ID 83810, or to the Kootenai Humane Society, P.O. Box 1005, Hayden, ID 83835. Thank you to those of you who have already contributed to the GoFundMe account.
