Wallace Jr./Sr. High School celebrated their homecoming week last week, a celebration the whole WHS community got involved in.
Principal Chris Lund thought the week was terrific and complimented the leadership class for their hard work.
“Everything went really well,” Lund said. “Our student leadership class put on a great homecoming.”
A week of fun activities and themed days kept the energy high as the students raced towards the end of the week dance and football game.
Monday night students were treated to a fun movie night at the school, followed by Dress As a Tourist Day and Western Day.
Thursday night the students showed their support of their volleyball team when they hosted their East Shoshone County rivals the Mullan Tigers.
Friday was a day to show off Miner Pride as the ladies put on football clinic during the annual powderpuff football game, which was won by the senior/freshman team 16-14.
Later that day a parade took over the downtown Wallace area before a pep assembly at the 6th and Cedar intersection got the students pumped for their impending football game.
At halftime of the football game, seniors Zayne Hunter and Destiny Angle were named homecoming king and queen.
Lund also praised the activities and themes of the week, but the last few days really stood out to him from a success standpoint.
“The activities were well received by the students and staff,” Lund said. “The leadership students put on a great pep assembly on Friday that had included sleeping bag races and a human hungry hippo game. We finished the week off with our one of kind parade that ends in the middle of Sixth and Cedar street.”
