Wallace High School has a few new faces at the front of some of their classrooms this year as they welcomed Natalie Heyn, Patrick Richardson and Nicole Delbridge to the district.

Heyn will be taking over some of the math and science classes, Richardson found his niche in social studies and civics, and Delbridge will be splitting her time in both Wallace Jr./Sr. High School and Silver Hills as the music and band instructor.

Heyn is coming to Wallace after teaching in Coeur d’Alene and is excited to be in her new surroundings.

“The kids and staff are awesome,” Heyn said. “It really is a nice school to be working in.”

Richardson, who comes to Wallace by way of West Boylston, Mass., is a civics teacher, who just finished up at the University of Idaho to get his teaching certificate.

“I am very happy to be here,” Richardson said. “This is a great community and the people are terrific.”

Delbridge is returning Silver Valley resident, she spent a brief part of her childhood here, but has come back to help kids find the magic of music.

“I lived here and went to school here between kindergarten and second grade before moving to Nevada,” Delbridge said. “I studied vocal performance in college so the band stuff is pretty new to me, but I’m learning with the kids. Coming back was pretty easy because I have a lot of family here and I’m excited to be able to work with all of the students.”

All of the new teachers had praise for (technically) first-year principal Chris Lund, who should be excited to have some new faces from across the country bring some outside perspective to his school.

“I think Mr. Lund is terrific,” Heyn said. “He is always checking on me to make sure I’m doing alright and that I don’t need anything. He is making me feel very welcome.”

Richardson had similar views.

“I think Mr. Lund is doing a great job as a first-year principal,” Richardson said. “It should be an awesome experience to grow and learn with him this year.”
