Construction work is winding down for the 2017 season on the City of Kellogg’s Sewer & Roads Rehabilitation and Replacement Project.

It has been a long hot summer but a great deal of progress has been made.

Phase II continues with the efforts on Cameron Avenue east of Hill Street, finishing up water services, sidewalk repairs and road work.

Crews are also working from Cameron Avenue north on Chestnut Street to Mission Avenue on water services, road work and curb repairs.

The next round of paving is planned for Cameron Avenue toward the end of next week.

This time of the year, all paving is weather dependent, so this work may actually take place sooner, or later than scheduled.

Work on water and sewer services is continuing on Mission Avenue between Oregon Street and Chestnut Street.

The mainline crew will soon finish on Chestnut Street and then will begin moving east on Mission Avenue from Chestnut Street.

Work on Mission Avenue will continue until winter shut down.

The roads in this area are not ready for paving yet, so they will be covered with millings and grindings for the winter.

Roads in this location will be maintained as needed until the project begins again in the spring.

Phase III work on McKinley Avenue is nearly done for the season.

Road ballast and base rock is being placed and curb repairs will be completed in preparation for paving.

Paving is planned for the first part of next week.

Phase III crews will then move to the area along the Rails to Trails near the Silver Mountain parking lot and continue there until winter shut down.

Please continue to drive safely and watch for young children in construction zones.

All of your patience and understanding this year is greatly appreciated.
