WALLACE — Brain food is definitely a thing.

Every day of school, the food service staff of the Wallace School District (WSD) ensure that over 500 students and staff get the fuel necessary to get through the day.

In an effort to recognize these hardworking women, WSD has proclaimed that the week of Oct. 9-13 is School Lunch Week and Oct. 11 is School Lunch Staff Appreciation Day.

The proclamation states “WHEREAS, Wallace School District #393’s food service staff serve students each day as part of a program that has as its highest priority the well-being of those students; and;

WHEREAS, the food service staff of Wallace School District #393 are an integral part of the education program, committing themselves to on-going professional training that recognizes the importance of skills, knowledge and; WHEREAS, Wallace School District #393 food service staff have been advocates for quality, and continuing education…”

On Oct. 11, food service staff were each presented with a corsage for their constant hard work.
