William “Bill” G. Schwartz Sr

William “Bill” G. Schwartz Sr. passed away in his home on October 27, 2017 surrounded by those who loved him.

Bill was born on July 8, 1937 in Ironia, New Jersey. At the age of 18 he joined the Air Force as a firefighter. He continued his career as a firefighter for many years until he became Fire Chief and then Fire Marshall for many agencies. He finally retired as Director of Disaster Services for Kootenai County, Idaho.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Mildred Schwartz and his loving wife of 59 years, Frances Schwartz.

Bill is survived by his sister, Jane Schwartz, of Ironia, New Jersey, his children Michael (Michelle) Schwartz of Pinehurst, Idaho, Shirley (Frank) Morden, of Pinehurst, Idaho and William (Laurie) Schwartz Jr. of George, Washington and multiple grand-children and nieces and nephew.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Pinehurst Fire Department in memory of Bill.

A celebration of life for Bill and Fran will be held on June 9, 2017 at 1p.m. at West Shoshone Park in Pinehurst, Idaho.
