Dave Lambert, Pinehurst, Idaho, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Dave passed away on September 2 at Kootenai Memorial Hospital. Born on October 22, 1941 in Breckenridge, Minnesota to Ralph and Dora Lambert, the family which included brother, Richard (Dick), and Dave moved to Wardner in 1942. Shortly thereafter, a final move was made to Pinehurst and a sister, Joanne, was born. Dave graduated from Kellogg High School in 1960 and joined the Army where he served for 3 years.

In 1963, Dave met and married the love of his life, Ruth DuPuis, and they settled in Pinehurst building a life of kids, Heidi (Clark) and Jeff, family, and friends. A miner from 1966 until he retired, he was a proud member of the Steelworkers Local 5089 and a lifetime Sunshine Miner. After he retired he served on the Pinehurst City Council and enjoyed his time contributing to the town he loved.

An avid hunter, fisherman and camper, nothing surpassed the joy he had raising his kids, welcoming their spouses Roxann (Lambert) and Lee (Clark) in to the family and being “Papa” to his grandchildren - Zachary (Karst), Jordan (Karst), and Jesse (Lambert), Travis (Clark), Nick (Clark) and Lexi (Clark). Dave was known as Papa to each new family member through marriage, Brittany (Karst) and Jessie (Lambert) and many others who were not “family”. He became a great grandfather this year to Bentley (Karst) and enjoyed each moment he had with him. “Papa” had a special relationship with each of his children and grandchildren and will forever be missed.

A funeral service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pinehurst at 2 pm on Saturday, September 9. A Celebration of Life will follow at Dave and Ruth’s residence. In lieu of flowers, donations in memorial of Dave can be made to Steelworkers Local 5114 Strike Fund, PO Box 427, Mullan, Idaho 83846.
