- Haylie Betham is a senior at Wallace High School. Her favorite class is yearbook because she loves photography and editing. She’s currently in the National Honor Society and is a cheerleader. Some of her special interests include her passion for photography, spending time outdoors, and eating — which she does frequently. Haylie’s plan after graduation is to attend NIC for her general studies, afterward she would like to transfer to U of I to pursue a degree in business in hopes of establishing her own photography business. Haylie is sponsored by the Wallace Drum and Bugle Corps.

- Halei Ungerbuehler is a senior at Wallace High School. Halei’s favorite class is art because Mrs. Lund gives great tutorials and makes the environment exciting. She has played volleyball for seven years, is a member of the National Honor Society, and founded a Bible study club. Outside school she’s on the worship team at her church, enjoys fitness, hiking, helping others feel important and singing as loudly as possible in the shower. She would love to attend a four-year university and continue playing volleyball followed by settling down and having a happy life. Halei is sponsored by the Mullan Volunteer Fire Dept.

- Kayla Slater is a senior at Wallace High School where her favorite classes are history and science. She tries to be active in school by playing varsity volleyball and cheerleading. Kayla is a member of National Honor Society and TSA. She loves spending her free time with her dogs, Sandy, Blondie and Rocky. If you can’t find her with her dogs she’s usually sleeping or somewhere near the water since she was probably a fish in her past life. Following graduation Kayla plans on attending Lewis and Clark State College to major in elementary education.

- Aby Berger is a senior at Wallace High School. Her favorite subject is English. Aby is very active in school with National Honor Society, Girls State, Student Council, TSA, and Track. Her favorite activities outside school are wake boarding and wake surfing. After graduation Aby plans to attend Gonzaga University to major in biology and eventually become an oral surgeon. Aby is sponsored by the Wallace Gyros.

- Mekayla Messic is a junior at Wallace High School where her favorite subjects are screen printing and math. She participates as a cheerleader and runs track. Mekayla’s favorite pastimes are dancing, drawing, taking pictures, singing, hiking, and working on cars. She also loves writing stories and poems. In the future she plans to become a wildlife photographer and to continue her writing.

The Wallace Elks Pageant is at 7 p.m. today, Sept. 6.
