KELLOGG — The Shoshone News-Press has received several emails and calls regarding the service outages in the Uptown Kellogg area as a result of the McConnell Hotel fire a week and a half ago.

Many residents living in the areas off of South Division Street have been trying to get answers, but are being given the runaround by the company.

Reports of stories and reasons being changed from techs having a heavy workload, to waiting for special parts, or that there is a safety risk are just a few of the reported reasons for delay that are circulating the local Silver Valley social media pages.

Over the course of the last few days crews from Frontier have been working on several of the poles and lines that run alongside the rubble remaining from the hotel, but there is no word yet on what exactly they are doing.

The SNP called Frontier technical support to see if they could determine what the problem was and when it would be resolved, but they were unable to give that information.

No timetable has been released as to when services will be available again, but there have been reports that it won’t happen until next week sometime.

The SNP has reached out to representatives with Frontier Communications’ customer service office as well as their corporate office on multiple occasions and have been directed to their voicemail in an effort to find out more information, but so far have not received anything substantial.

The Shoshone News-Press will continue to follow and update this story as it develops.
