It’s now a race to finish up work on our project for this season.

As Mother Nature pushes us closer towards colder weather and the yearly winter shut-down, much remains to be done.

Phase II continues with one crew working on Mission Avenue between Rose Street and Chestnut Street installing water mains and service connections.

When completed, they will then proceed North on Chestnut from Mission Avenue continuing to install water main.

A second crew is working on Cameron Avenue East of Hill Street installing water main and services.

When current efforts on Cameron Avenue are complete, attention will shift to clean-up and preparing for roadwork.

Paving on parts of Phase II is planned for next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Pavement will be placed on Oregon Street, North of Cameron Avenue, on Utah North of Cameron, on Mission Avenue from Oregon to Utah and in the alleyways in this same general location.

Crews will then move to Cameron Avenue East of Hill Street to begin preparing for pavement at this location.

All paving on both phases of the project is weather dependent.

Work continues on Phase III as well.

The mainline crew is at the Heritage Health Clinic and will stop sewer installation on McKinley Avenue at this point for the 2017 construction season.

Work will resume on McKinley Avenue in 2018 from this same location.

Once sewer work is complete, crews will turn their attention to preparing McKinley Avenue for paving.

Pave-out in this area will be completed no later than October 13th this fall.

Phase III efforts will then shift to the area near the Silver Mountain parking lot along the Rails to Trails.

Work in this location is well away from city streets and will continue until winter shutdown.

As always, please be safe while traveling through construction zones.

Drive slowly and watch out for workers and especially young children.

Anyone needing special assistance related to the project or who may have questions or concerns may contact Mr. Craig Lewis Superintendent of Public Works at (208) 786-9131.
