Karen Yvonne Thacker, 78

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Karen Yvonne Thacker, 78, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away at the home of her daughter, Terri Sink of Osburn, on September 20, 2017. She was born April 10, 1939 in Ellendale, North Dakota; Karen was the daughter of Harold and Mary Ann (Holmes) Shellabarger.

Karen attended schools in North Dakota and Seattle, Washington. She married Vernon Thacker in June of 1965 in Sitka, Alaska; Vernon passed away in 2009.

Before her retirement, Karen had worked at the Rite Aid store of Caldwell, Idaho for twenty plus years. She moved to the Silver Valley in 2016.

Karen loved and enjoyed her family, gambling, watching T.V. and her beloved dogs Blackie and Daisy.

Karen is survived by four children Vernon and Sarita Thacker, Jr. of Silverton, Idaho, Cindy and John Wood of Nampa, Idaho, Terri and Ron Sink of Osburn, Idaho and Tina Hetrick of Homedale, Idaho; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; one brother Harold Shellabarger of Wenatchee, Washington; one sister Delores Hart of Tacoma, Washington; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon, one brother Darold Shellabarger and one sister Joyce Storms.

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Best Shots of Kellogg following services; everyone is welcome.
