KPD Roll Call 9/19-9/26

•Citizen contact in parking lot of Kellogg PD. Subject got a handcuff locked on his hand, requesting assistance in removal. Novelty pair of handcuffs (no pink fur) that do not take regular handcuff keys. Subject was advised to go to the Fire Station for removal (bolt cutters not an axe). I was notified later that the subject never showed. Unknown result except on our end that we could not disengage the handcuff with our keys.

•K77 is having a hard time remembering what uniform to put on so he just wears both.

•Traffic stop for no headlights in the I.G.A parking lot- verbal.

•Towed white Subaru from E Portland.

•Walk through of KMS.

•Landline at the office reference a shop selling something they should not be selling. After research, there is no law at this time for the item being sold. Unable to contact the person back to advise.

•Walk-in report of a dog tied to a tree on Sierra Nevada. Once I was finally able to make it up that way, the dog was still there on someone’s property. When I showed them the dog to see if they knew who owned it, they decided to keep the dog. Male German Sheppard approximately 12-20 weeks old. This is for if anyone begins looking for a dog. I think we should find out why it was left in the mountains before giving information to get the dog back.

•Dog at large 100 block of East Riverside - persons that called it in found out who the owner was and returned the dog. By the time I made it down there, the dog was running around again. Contacted owner of dog at Dave Smith Motors and advised they needed to capture and see how it is escaping from a fenced yard (I did not see anywhere it could be escaping from). Referred to owner.

•Follow-up completed at Prosecutor’s Office.

•Agency assist for battery in Wallace. Took over investigation and cited and released one subject for simple battery. I took over as it was a conflict for the Sheriff’s Office, nothing involving battery on an officer or anything of that sort. Report taken.

•Dispatched to the post office about some kids blocking the street from cars driving past. Cleared UTL.

•Called to Les Schwab’s for possible stolen vehicle. Not stolen, cleared public assist.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Dropped off K75 and K72’s patrol vehicle for service.

•Assist K77 with child interference, cleared agency assist.

•Landline request made for previous welfare check. Cleared public assist.

•Civil issue handled at Amy Lynns. Cleared civil.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Public Assist with walk-through of residence 100 block of S. Elm - cleared public assist.

•Reports and other follow-ups on active and submitted cases.

•Suspicious person 100 block of Kellogg Avenue- suspected prowling of vehicles. Subject was gone on arrival, checked the area with K72 and we were unable to locate. Extra patrols conducted.

•LL request about male juvenile coming to her house. RP does not want male juvenile coming to her house. Male juvenile has remained at his house since he’s on house arrest. Cleared public assist.

Dispatched to 100 block of Kellogg Ave about suspicious subject peering into vehicles. Subject had ran either into a house or the woods upon arrival. Cleared UTL.

•Dispatched to Amy Lynn’s about unwanted subject trying to break into her old apartment that she was evicted from. Cleared UTL.

•Received dog at the shelter from Pinehurst.

•Increased patrol around Kellogg Avenue, Presley Avenue.

•Called to the middle school for a possible child abuse case. met with H&W it was determined that this was not a criminal case and they would handle it from here.

•Released a dog from the pound.

•K77 was called to a motorist assist, it was off duty K75 who didn’t know what the gas light indicator was. I was happy to bring him some fuel, but not until after I snapped some photos of him and forwarded them on to K-73 for the brief photos.

•Contacted an upset male about a threat he made to Avista. He threatened to steal one of their vehicles if they continue to “rob” him. K77 spoke with him and advised him of some of the consequences of his threats. He assured K77 it wouldn’t happen again.

•Suspicious activity at or near Stein’s IGA- female accosted while entering the store. No longer in progress and neither party on-scene. Description given of male. K77, 1226, and K75 searched the area without success. Contacted RP and will conduct extra patrols in the area.

•Attempt to locate erratic driver on I90 near mile post 51. All the way to Osburn- Unable to locate.

•Citizen contact at Eddie Joe’s- female subject had too much to drink and was vomiting on the side of the building. Subject was safe and not in need of medical attention. Advised she was done drinking at establishments and cleared.

•Traffic stop stemming from Cedar and Riverside, vehicle stopped Riverside and Hill. Verbal warning for taillight out and coming to a complete stop at stop signs. Two small children in the vehicle desperately needing to use the restroom...it was a quick warning.

•Disturbance on Upper 3rd - report of domestic in the 600 block. Arrived to a residence in disarray. Checked the residence and could not locate anyone. Located female subject on the hill side “watching the constellations”. She states she is getting ready for a “yard sale” and this explained all the items that had been thrown out of the residence. K72 handled the situation as she liked him better (everybody likes BOB). Spoke with neighbors and the male half left a while prior to our arrival as he had been instructed to from previous incidents....so there’s a positive to take away from this.

•Agency assist 669 on traffic stop behind Casa de Oro- K72 beat me there and all was well.

•K77 was dispatched to a burglary alarm at Sass Jewelers. Upon arrival it was determined that it was an actual burglary.

•K77 spend the rest of the day following leads.

•Patrol of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Assisted Fire at Dave Smith motors. Cleared agency assist.

•Assisted Fire again at KMS. Cleared agency assist.

•Dispatched to 100 block Elder Ave for unwanted subject. Subject was no longer there upon arrival. Cleared public assist.

•Traffic stop on Oak and Cameron for speeding. Cleared verbal.

•Traffic stop on Cameron Avenue by Trail Motel for stop sign violation. Ended up being an arrest for DWP for the third time. Cleared arrest.

•Assisted K76 to 300 block of S Division for an odor which resembled marijuana. Cleared unfounded.

•Traffic stop on McKinley Avenue into the Dirty Ernie’s parking lot. Cleared citation issued for no insurance.

•Dispatched to Silver Mt. for a large bonfire and lots of people possibly intoxicated. There was a fire that was only somewhat large but controlled and no one was belligerent. Cleared public assist.

•LL request from the owner of Sass Jewelry. Wanted to speak about patrols around the store.

•You can’t get there from here (City Hall).

•Called to Wah Hings for a report of a stolen Iphone- cleared report taken.

•Called to the 300 block of South Division for a smell of marijuana coming through their vents- Clear unfounded.

•Called to the stardust motel for a county assist for a fight- cleared other agency assist.

•Called to Smelterville to assist 1207 at a rollover crash, he stated he needed assistance then wasn’t responding to status checks. Upon arrival things were heated but code four, his portable wasn’t getting out- cleared other agency assist.

•Called to a theft of bicycles at Silver Mt. The value of the stolen bicycles will make this a grand theft case. Victim stated bikes were locked and someone stole them during the night hours.

•Ran court paper work up to SO for the judge.

•Called to Trail Motel for unwanted subject. He left without incident. Cleared public assist.

•Called to a guy walking around his car on the should of I90 by Kindred. Vehicle was gone on arrival.

•VIN inspection.

•RP from stolen cell phone contacted me and said the phone was found but the $100 dollar phone case was taken off of it. K76 has a report on it already.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Walk-through of KMS.

•VIN inspection in Wardner.

•Called to McDonald’s for unwanted subjects. Subjects left before my arrival. Cleared NAT.

•Took two dogs in the pound from Pinehurst.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Foot patrol of Main, E Portland, Market, McKinley.

•Follow up for K77 at Sass Jewelry.

•100 block of W. Mission for a report of battery/agg assault - subject was shot with a pellet gun at the Kellogg City Park. Suspect is known, pellet rifle was recovered and report was taken. Will be conducting follow-up later with more information to submit charges.

•Traffic stop 51 EB on-ramp - verbal warning as driver turned on the lights to the vehicle right as I did (they were driving with no lights on).

•Follow-up for previous call.

•Evidence work and report system rundown with K73.

•VIN inspection on McKinley Ave.

•Called to ACES family center for dog locked in vehicle with no windows down. After checking the vehicle out I noticed the two back windows of the van cracked open and the two front windows down about 4”. Nearby witness said the owner has come out a few times to check on the dog. cleared NAT.

•Report of theft of electricity. Cleared victim refusal.

•Traffic stop on Bunker Ave for speed, cleared verbal.

•Traffic stop on Cameron Ave for speed, cleared verbal.

•Follow up for K74.

•Walkthrough at KMS, spoke with student about bullying and using bad language.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•K75 Received a “parking ticket” from Chuck Peterson while he made contact with him at Chuck’s Memorabilia Museum in Wardner. K75 was also quizzed on the seven Peterson brothers who have served in our armed forces. K75 failed.

•Called to an intoxicated male at the Silver Mt Parking lot. He was yelling obscenities at K90 for no apparent reason other than he might have thought she was a patrol officer and that’s why he dumped out his beer in the parking lot. Made contact with said potty mouth and explained to him that’s not the way we speak to Lady’s.
