Delbert Leroy Schlittenhart, 80

Delbert Leroy Schlittenhart, age 80, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away on April 6, 2018, due to health complications. Del was the son of Chris and Lydia Schlittenhart, born October 28th, 1937, in Bismarck, North Dakota. He lived on a farm southwest of Hazelton, North Dakota, attended rural school and helped his dad on the farm until they moved to Eureka, South Dakota.

In 1959, he married Yvonne Ohlhauser, they had one son, Kelly and one daughter, Tamra, together. Yvonne died in 1962 of a heart condition. He then married Emma “Carol” Ohlhauser on June 2, 1968 and together they had two daughters Roxann and Stacy. He leaves behind his wife, Carol of the family home of Kellogg; his children Kelly Schlittenhart of Coeur D‘ Alene, Tamra Schlittenhart of Kellogg, Roxann (Jeff) Lambert of Pinehurst, Stacy (Corey) Berti of Kellogg; two granddaughters; Brooke Berti, Brittnee (Sam) Browand; one grandson Jesse (Jessie) Lambert; and one great-granddaughter Ayda Browand; two sisters Carol Ackerman and Shirley Dockter, both of Osburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Lydia, as well as, his brother Raynold Schlittenhart.

Del worked at various mines, including Homestake, Bunker Hill, and Stillwater. He was a miner for 38 years and retired in 1999. He and his wife moved back to Kellogg to be closer to their children, grandchildren and the rest of the family. Some of Del’s favorite past times included hunting up Montgomery Gulch, fishing at Camp Tuffit in Montana, camping and spending time with his beloved family.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 14th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Silver Valley Worship Center in Smelterville, Idaho, with Pastor Corey Berti officiating.

The family suggests that donations may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
