Theodore “Ted” “Sonny” Otto Hahn, 80

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Theodore “Ted” “Sonny” Otto Hahn, 80, of Kingston, Idaho, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2018. He was born on May 5, 1937 in Salem, Oregon; Ted was the son of Otto John and Viola (Dietrich) Hahn.

Ted spent his early years in and around the Pacific Northwest, as well as, Minnesota and North Dakota, moving to the Silver Valley in 1958. He has also served in the Army National Guard.

Ted had worked at the Bunker Hill Mining Company as a miner for twenty years; he then retired. Ted loved mining most of all and so enjoyed attending the Bunker Hill retirement parties. He met his wife Connie and they were married on June 20, 1981 at the Cataldo Mission and enjoyed the past 38 years together. Ted and Connie are also the proud owners of Healthy Resolutions, PLLC in Kellogg, Idaho.

Ted was a member of the St. Rita’s Catholic Church of Kellogg, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a former member of the Kellogg Elks #1841, the Pinehurst Jaycees and a member of the Bunker Hill Twenty Year Club.

Ted loved and enjoyed his family, farming, gardening vegetables and flowers, his tractor and wood-working. He had built his house and took great pride in his home, garden and beautifully landscaped yard.

Ted is survived by his beloved wife Connie Hahn of the family home of Kingston; four children Trent (Leona) Hahn of Osburn, Idaho, Troy (Wendy) Hahn of Post Falls, Idaho, Theresa (Ryan) Cahan of Port Hadlock, Washington and Tina (Kevin) Viche of Kellogg; four step-children Dan (Juli) Peterson of St. Regis, Montana, Joe Peterson of Osburn, Idaho, Marianne (Don) Gallinger of Osburn, Idaho and Rodney Peterson of Tacoma, Washington; eighteen grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters Alice Arthur of Spokane, Washington, Shirley Allen of Ohio, Jane Goodrich of Spokane, Alvina Krocak, Larry Hahn, Peggy Voison and Earl Hahn all of Minnesota; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and one step-son John Peterson.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Rita’s Catholic Church of Kellogg on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Jerome Montez serving as Celebrant. Interment will be held at the Hunt Cemetery of Kingston, Idaho. A reception/luncheon will be held at the St. Rita’s Parish Hall following services.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus, St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 25 Kellogg Ave. Kellogg, Idaho 83837.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses of Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene who provided such special care to Ted these last few weeks.
