Traffic stop yields large pot seizure

WALLACE – The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) reports that on Tuesday, April 17 at approximately 2:25 p.m., an SCSO deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle entering the City of Wallace from Interstate 90. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 48- year old Jeffrey R. Campbell of West Lynn, Ore. During the stop, the odor of a controlled substance was detected and after being asked about the odor, Campbell provided a small amount of marijuana to the patrol deputy.

After placing Campbell into custody and conducting a search, approximately 58 pounds of marijuana was located in the vehicle.

Campbell was transported and booked into the Shoshone County Public Safety Building for Felony Possession of Controlled Substance and Trafficking Narcotics.

All of the narcotics located were seized and placed into evidence.
