Lois Adeline (Zeinert) Lewis, 87

Cherished sister, mother, grandmother and friend, Lois Adeline (Zeinert) Lewis, 87, of Mullan, Idaho passed away on August 6, 2018 at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Lois was born August 2, 1931 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin; she was the daughter of Edward and Myrtle (Stickney) Zeinert.

Lois married the love of her life, Roy “Red” Lewis in 1947 and had 4 beautiful daughters; Ramona, Sarah, Elda, and Vicky. They shared 56 wonderful years of marriage up until Roy’s passing in 2004.

Lois and her family moved from Wisconsin to the Silver Valley in 1951. It was in the Silver Valley where she began a long career in the restaurant industry. She had worked as a cook, prep cook, and car hop and ran the Travelers Café in Osburn. Lois later became the owner and operator of the Tip Top Bar for 13 years. She was also owner and operator of Gold Rush Wrecking for over 12 years.

In earlier years, Lois was a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Silverton, Idaho, and later became a member of the Silver Valley Worship Center in Smelterville, Idaho. Lois was also a proud member of the Lions Club.

Lois had many passions, including fishing, hunting and camping. She was also an amazing baker and because she did not believe in waste, she was also a very avid canner. Yet through it all, Lois’s most favorite past time was spending time with her wonderful family.

Lois is survived by her three daughter; Sarah Duncan of Pinehurst, Idaho, Elda Brown of Osburn, Idaho, and Vicky Lewis of Kellogg, Idaho; five sisters; one brother; thirteen grandchildren; forty-nine great-grandchildren; thirty-five great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her companion of the last seven years, Frank Mellen. She is preceded in death by; her parents, Edward and Myrtle; her husband, Roy; her daughter Ramona, three brothers; three sisters; three sons-in-law; two grandchildren, Scott Knapp and William Baldwin and one great-granddaughter, Leandra Baldwin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Gene Day Park, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
