Befuddled!

| August 9, 2018 6:23 PM

I just watched and heard President Trump refer to the media, as “the enemy of the people”. And I witnessed some ten thousand people, along with a couple rows of beautiful white children supposedly believing him.

In my opinion, this is treasonous talk.

I don’t have a doctorate. I’m not a journalist, a congressman schooled with the experience of constitutional democratic governing, but I’m not exactly uneducated.

I have long realized the great superiority of our country is because of the free press; the non-government-controlled free constitutional right of the fourth estate.

We have long and vociferously lambasted such countries as Russia because of government run journalism. Our Constitution’s first amendment, far more important than the second, guarantees the free press. Could this whole amendment be the “enemy of the people”? Ridiculous.

I am deeply insulted and astounded at my president’s behavior both before and after his election. His blindness to the truth, his blindness to scholarship, compels me to complain to the High Heavens!

The so-called Christian right thinkers who support this type of tomfoolery in a leader indeed befuddles me. I would implore, pray, that those believers stop getting their information from cyberspace and start reading and watching varying sources of truth; not just a narcissistic leader’s imagination.

Hear the numerous professors, scholars, scientists, journalists, statesmen and women. Hear what our leader calls “fake news”, and see how it isn’t fake at all; what is really “truth”, and...actually...what is really “Christian”.
