Osburn man arrested for 'sexual abuse of a child' related charges
WALLACE – An Osburn man was arrested Thursday morning for several charges involving the sexual abuse of a child.
The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Officer reports that on Wednesday, Aug. 8, SCSO received a report of a possible sexual crime involving a juvenile female.
Working collaboratively with the Osburn Police Department, local law enforcement worked throughout the night of Aug. 8 to investigate the incident. As a result, Eric T. Goyette, 45, of Osburn, Idaho, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. that night and booked into the Shoshone County Public Safety building for soliciting sexual abuse of a child, electronically recording sexual abuse of a child, and inducing to see sexual conduct/sexual abuse of a child.
SCSO Captain Jeremy Groves states that “this investigation is ongoing and due to the sensitive nature of this case and the victim(s) involved, nothing further can be released at this time.”
Icourt records indicate that Goyette was arrested in 2015 for another juvenile related charge of “Encourage, Aid or Cause to Come Within Purview” that was vacated.
The Shoshone News-Press will continue to follow this story as more information is released.
