KELLOGG – The female juvenile that was reported as a runaway on Aug. 7 was located and arrested by law enforcement Wednesday night.

Details on her identity, reasons for running away, and/or arrest are not available due to her underage status, but it was reported to the News-Press that she was booked into the Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center in Coeur d’Alene for a charge of being “Beyond Parental Control.”

A source who was involved in the search for her stated that she was found in Kellogg after meeting with a Kellogg Middle School staff member.

The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office had been asking for information regarding the whereabouts of the female juvenile since she was reported as a runaway by her parents/guardians Tuesday night.

The situation gained attention Wednesday morning when a Facebook post (with pictures) on the page “Silver Valley Classifieds You Wont Get Kicked Out,” asked residents to report any information to Kellogg Police if they had seen her.

Kellogg Police Chief David Wuolle explained later that their agency was not handling the investigation, as the runaway report came from Bisanos Mobile Home Park– which falls into County jurisdiction.

SCSO Captain Jeremy Groves told the News-Press that deputies did respond to that call Tuesday night and the parents/guardians of the juvenile did sign her as a runaway.

The juvenile was not identified as an official missing person, contrary to what the social media post stated.

Even with her discovery and arrest, SCSO cannot release any information on the juvenile (such as a description or name) because she is underage and was considered a runaway (not a missing person).

Although SCSO also cannot confirm that the photos of the girl included in the social media post are of the runaway, sources that are close to the female juvenile confirmed that they are of her.
