Gale B. Walley

Gale Walley was born November 17, 1940 to Harold and Clara Walley in Great Falls, Montana. Gale passed on to Heaven at home in Post Falls, ID on February 6 , 2018 at the age of 77 surrounded by his daughter, sisters, relatives and friends. He was at peace knowing he was going to be with his parents, wife, and son after a long battle with health issues..

Gale graduated from Wallace High School in Wallace. ID. Then he served in the Navy for four years (1959-1963), returning to the Silver Valley working as a miner at the Galena, the Lucky Friday and the Bunker Hill for more than twenty years. He met and married Kathy Haig in 1976 who had two children: daughter Karen, and son Kevin and they moved to Coeur d’Alene. They worked for A.I.D. and for the Forest Service before deciding to purchase a moving company that

he owned and operated for thirty years called “Local Moving” in Post Falls, ID.

He loved fishing, traveling in his motor home with his 4 wheeler and his close friend Patty and beloved dog “Gidget”. Animals were an important part of his life. He enjoyed taking his ’66 Impala to the car shows. One of his favorite past times was “gold panning” though he never struck it rich. He loved history, getting his love of the past from his parents. Watching sports, particularly the 49’ers,

Gonzaga, and golf were some of his favorites. An important part of his life

was spent with frequent visits from his step daughter Karen enjoying many

fun activities together throughout the years.

Gale was preceded in death by his wife Kathy, son Kevin, and his parents Harold and Clara Walley. He is survived by his daughter, Karen; his two sisters Colleen Walley and Lynn (Lon) Brower; his nephew Michael (Cheryl) Brower and family; his niece Kristen Marquis and family, and cousins Lauretta Stanfield and Sterling Burch as well as his dog Gidget.

There will be a service with a military honor guard on August 25 at 1 p.m.

at the Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

wonderful care of Gale and offering kindness to his family. Memorial donations
