As the hot weather continues, so does work on the City of Kellogg’s Sewer Rehabilitation and Replacement Project.

Phase III crews will continue to work on main line sewer and sewer services on Teddy and Park Ave. through next week. A second crew is now working near the Rails to Trail heading towards Rail Road Ave. and Hill Street. Road work on Flume Ave. should be finishing up very soon.

Phase II continues in the Sunnyside Addition north of I-90. Main line sewer work on Elder Ave. is done. Work to install services will now begin. Some work on water lines and services will also occur in the areas of Elder, Sunset and Hill Street.

Crews are now installing main line water on Mission Ave. with services to follow over the next two weeks. The installation of water services on Mullan Ave. is nearly done. Road work will now begin. Work continues to finish installing sewer and water lines and connecting services on Cameron Ave. and Division Street. Once completed, the roads in this area will be prepared for paving.

The next pave out for Phase II & Phase III is currently scheduled for mid to late September.

Be safe. Please continue to obey road closure signs and drive carefully around and through active construction zones. Watch out for pedestrians and especially young children and pets. Remember, operators of heavy equipment may have blind spots that make it hard to see vehicles and pedestrians so give them plenty of room to maneuver. Please continue to be patient with all that is going on and don’t be afraid to say thank you to all of those who are working hard on your behalf.

Parents, please remind your children to avoid active construction zones and to not play on material piles placed throughout the area.

The Kellogg swimming pool remains open and admittance is free of charge while the sewer project is underway.

Anyone needing special assistance related to the sewer project or who may have questions or concerns should contact Mr. Craig Lewis, Superintendent of Public Works at (208) 786-9131.

On weekends, holidays or after work hours you may contact Mr. Lewis by calling the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Dispatch at (208) 556-1114 and ask that they contact him for you.
