Norma Eileen Thomas, 89

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Norma Eileen Thomas of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away December 5, 2018 at the Mountain Valley of Cascadia of Kellogg. She was born October 8, 1929 in Circle, Montana; Norma was the daughter of Harvey and Evelyn (Falkenberg) Johnson.

Growing up, Norma lived between the cities of Missoula, Montana and Wallace, Idaho, due to her Father’s career as conductor of the Northern Pacific Railroad. She had attended the Wallace High School and also attended and graduated from the Missoula High School in 1948. In the early 1950’s, Norma moved to Wallace to live permanently

Norma first married Richard Reinoso on January 19, 1951 in Missoula, Montana; they later divorced. She then married Kenneth Thomas on August 8, 1953 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Kenneth passed away on March 31, 1990.

Norma was a homemaker but had also worked at the Wallace Liquor Store for ten years, before her retirement.

Norma was a member of the Wallace Ladies Bowling League, the Wallace Lady Elks, the Wallace Methodist Church and had served as a leader for the Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts. She was also an unofficial member of the Zanetti “Aunts” Bunch

Norma loved and enjoyed her family, bowling and traveling with the Ladies Bowling League. She also loved watching her sons play baseball and softball and watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play all sports.

Norma is survived by five children Terri Reinoso and Tom Schumacher of Olympia, Washington, Kirk and Kathy Thomas of Post Falls, Idaho, Gregg and Janis Thomas of Newman Lake, Washington, Brad Thomas of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Gail and Tracey Yost of Pinehurst, Idaho; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; her companion of twenty-five years Jim Vining of Lake Havasu, Arizona; three half-sisters including Jane Hammer and numerous nieces and nephews whom she discovered later in life. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Thomas and two birth family brothers William and Anton.

A Celebration of Norma’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wallace Elks; everyone is welcome.
