Skyler Brett Sauer, 26

Beloved grandson, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Skyler Brett Sauer, 26, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away Dec. 11, 2018, at the Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho. He was born May 26, 1992, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Skyler was the son of Brett Sauer and Brandy Freer.

Skyler grew up in the Silver Valley where at a young age he developed a love for the great outdoors from his father, Brett. You could find Skyler hunting, fishing, looking for sheds, mushrooms or huckleberries, trapping, anything and everything outdoors. He was wise beyond his years and had an amazing sense of humor like his father — he had a joke for everything always making people smile and laugh.

Skyler was a member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited.

Skyler is survived by his mother, Brandy (Larry Beeler) Freer; two sisters, Sierra (Patrick Rowe) Sauer and Stacy (Levi) Duncan; five nieces and nephews, Coltin Duncan, Annabelle Duncan, Priscilla Duncan, Scarlett Rowe and Benjamin Rowe; grandparents Tim (Jan) Meyers and his great-grandparents. Skyler is also survived by his aunt, Veronica (Dave) Wuolle and uncle Dusty Sauer. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Skyler was preceded in death by his father, Brett Sauer; and his grandparents, Ron and Mary Sauer, and Raymond and Sherry Eagle; grandpa Robert Hoffer and grandpa Dale King.

Skyler was loved by all and will be missed by many.
