WALLACE — The Wallace Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its newest board directors Talen Caraway and Brenda Johnson.

Caraway is the assistant manager of Wallace Harvest Foods.

Caraway and his wife, Jessie, and their two children moved to Wallace in June 2017, where the prospect of returning to small-town living was appealing to him.

“I grew up in a small town in Texas, so I’m used to small town life.” Caraway said. “But to be surrounded by all the beauty that Wallace and the Pacific Northwest has to offer is unbelievable. Wallace has such strong small business and downtown merchant support. I am honored to try my best to maintain and improve it in order to keep Wallace a great place to visit and to raise a family.”

Johnson is co-owner of Johnson’s Gems and this isn’t her first go-around with a chamber of commerce.

Johnson is a former board member of the Silver Valley Chamber, and is also a longtime volunteer for organizations countywide.

A longtime North Idaho resident, Johnson and her husband, Ed, reside in Pinehurst.

The Wallace Chamber is looking toward a bright 2019 as multiple businesses have opened in some of the iconic downtown buildings in Wallace and Wallace Chamber director Dave Copelan is excited to see where this group can take the community in the coming year. “I think we have a fantastic group,” Copelan said. “A great mix of expertise, energy and experience.”

The Shoshone News-Press will highlight the new board directors for the Silver Valley Chamber in a coming addition and the new leadership of each of the local chambers closer to their joint installation banquet on Jan. 11.
