OSBURN — A new day care facility has recently opened in Osburn and is looking for enrollees.

Silver Valley Childcare is one of the newest businesses on the east end of Shoshone County, and owner/operator Jessica Jasso is excited to work with children from across the community.

“I have over 15 years experience in the childcare field. I have worked in and owned multiple day cares, taught preschool, been a private nanny and provided respite care for military families,” Jasso said. “I have continuing education specializing in children with physical, mental and medical disabilities. I am fluent in sign language, which I love to incorporate into a fun learning environment. I am passionate about music and dance and hope to share that passion with the children around me.”

Jasso has already been working with some of the local children as the children’s church leader at Cornerstone Church in Osburn, which incorporates some of the same teachings that she has at her day care facility.

With fewer child care facilities and a growing population of young children, it made sense for someone with Jasso’s expertise to see a need and fill that void.

“There is such a limited amount of options for child care here in the Valley and I have had parents asking me to watch their kids continually, so when the opportunity came up to open this center, I decided to go for it,” Jasso said. “I’m so excited to be able to provide a great place for parents to take their kids and give them peace of mind knowing they are safe and well taken care of.”

Silver Valley Childcare is located at 707 E. Mullan Ave. in Osburn, and is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
