PINEHURST — The North Idaho Bagel Company opened their doors this week as they celebrated their grand opening.

Owner and baker Caleb Bishop was thrilled with the turnout during the day-long event and was thankful for such a warm reception.

“Everything went great today, thank you to all that were able to come down and share this experience with us,” Bishop said. “We are excited to be in the Silver Valley with the chance to strengthen this small community. The future is bright.”

The North Idaho Bagel Company began in 2016 at the Winter Bazaar in Post Falls, but Bishop’s adventures in baking have been going on for much longer.

“I have been baking since I was 12,” Bishop said. “I’ve been in food service since I was 19. I am 30 and have been baking bagels for the last four years.”

Both Silver Mountain and the Bean have been selling Bishop’s bagels and they have not disappointed.

Bishop has done a good job of making sure that he has an option for everyone with his diverse bagel, scone and bread menu.

“We have plain, everything, garlic and onion, jalapeño cheddar, jalapeño cheddar bacon, bacon cheddar, cheddar onion, herb Parmesan, pepperoni pizza, blueberry, cranberry, French toast and cinnamon raisin bagels,” Bishop said. “We also have a variety of scones, sweet rolls and bread loaves.”

As of right now, the bakery is just open for take out purposes, but Bishop has plans to make his business even more customer friendly.

“At this point, we won’t have any dining in,” Bishop said. “A sit down storefront might be in the works and outside seating will be available this summer.”

The North Idaho Bagel Company is located at 608 N. Division Ave. in Pinehurst and will be open for walk-ins on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will also be running deliveries on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, including home deliveries.
