WALLACE — The Shoshone County Prosecutor’s Office reports that Travas Bickhart, 34, of Osburn, Idaho, has recently been sentenced to 20 years in prison for three counts of rape and three counts of Sexual Battery of a Minor.

According to the Idaho Repository, Bickhart was arrested by Osburn Police in April of 2017.

During his court appearance, Prosecuting Attorney Benjamin Allen argued in support of a 20 year prison sentence.

“While Mr. Bickhart presents to the court today as a remorseful individual, there is no escaping the egregiousness of his conduct,” He said.

“Mr. Bickhart’s sexual abuse was not an isolated event...For the two victims of Mr. Bickhart’s acts, the effects and trauma of these incidents will likely live with them for the rest of their lives. This is trauma that can never be undone.”

As Judge Gibler handed down the sentence to Bickhart, he reminded him of the lifelong impact he has left on the victims.

“This will remain with them for the rest of their lives. There is no doubt in my mind that the things you did you knew were wrong and you did them again and again.”

The Prosecutor’s Office would like to thank the Osburn Police Dept and assisting members of Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office for the hard work and dedication to this investigation.
