Marsha Kaye Lilienkamp, 73

| February 15, 2018 11:43 AM

Marsha Kaye Lilienkamp, 73, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away February 13, 2018 at the Schneidmiller Hospice House of Coeur d’ Alene. She was born June 19, 1944 in Kellogg, Idaho; Marsha was the daughter of Mark and Alice (Maddox) Tuveson.

Marsha has lived in the Silver Valley all of her life. She attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School. She married Dick Lilienkamp on May 22, 1961 in Coeur d’ Alene, and after a short time in Bozeman, Montana they moved to Wallace and established their permanent home.

Marsha first worked for Dr. Jim Lynn of Wallace as a dental assistant. On weekends Marsha spent her time working with her aunt and uncle, Merle and Walt Frank, in the rental shop at Lookout Pass Ski Area. She greatly enjoyed the time at the ski area with her family and friends. Marsha then went to work at the First National Bank of Wallace where she stayed while it became First Security and eventually Wells Fargo. Working at the bank allowed her to become active in numerous civic affairs and the community. Before here retirement in October of 2009, Marsha worked in the finance department for Dave Smith Motors.

Marsha was a member of the United Church Of Christ Congregational of Wallace, P.E.O. Chapter X of Wallace, served as a board member of the Wallace Public Library, the Callahan Zeller Foundation, the Shoshone County Crisis and Resource Center, a volunteer for the Shoshone Cancer Resource Center, and in her earlier years an instructor for the Lookout Free Ski School. Always up for the occasional Wallace Celebration, she danced in, and helped manage several Slippery Gulch Celebrations. One of Marsha’s most impactful efforts came from the 7 years spent on the Taft Tunnel Preservation Society as an instrumental member in the development of the Route of the Hiawatha Bike Trail.

Marsha loved and enjoyed her family and the outdoors. She was always happy hiking, backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, biking, or just working in her (or her daughters’) flower gardens. She always had her special areas where she could gather her mushrooms and pick huckleberries all day, but she’d never tell you where. Regardless how she spent her time outdoors her beloved dogs were always at her side.

Marsha is survived by her husband Dick Lilienkamp of the family home of Wallace; three children: Ken and (Jill) Lilienkamp of Boise, Chris and (Scott) Bischoff of Wallace, and Jill and (Dean) Cooper of Wallace; her beloved dog Marty and grand-dogs; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. at the United Church of Christ Congregational of Wallace with Rev. Alice Ling officiating. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Wallace Elks following services.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shoshone County Crisis & Resource Center, 415-7th Street, Ste. 1, Wallace, Idaho 83873, or to the Shoshone Cancer Resource Center, P.O.
