WALLACE — The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) reports that a transient from Washington has been arrested for intent to deliver heroin.

On Feb. 16 at 12:45 a.m., an SCSO deputy initiated a traffic stop on Pine Creek Rd. near milepost 2. The driver of the vehicle, 27-year old Crystal Ann Ramirez, was found to be on felony probation. Ramirez was not in compliance with her probation officer.

The traffic stop resulted in a search of Ramirez’ vehicle where illegal drug items were seized including a substantial amount of what is believed to be heroin. Consequently, Ramirez is being charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The exact amount of heroin found will be determine after laboratory analysis.
