Alvin Lee Clemson, 65

Beloved husband, father and brother, Alvin Lee Clemson, 65, of Meridian, Idaho (formerly of the Silver Valley), passed away Feb. 13, 2018, at his home in Meridian. He was born Nov. 18, 1952, in Spokane, Wash. Alvin was the son of Jack and Catherine (Cochrane) Clemson.

Alvin was united in marriage to Julia Hatfield on Oct. 13, 1973, in Mackey, Idaho.

Alvin had lived in the Silver Valley for many years, before moving to California in 1982. Then in 1996, he moved to the Boise/Meridian area.

Alvin attended and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1971. He then attended North Idaho College. Alvin served a four-year electrician apprenticeship with the Bunker Hill Mining Company. He then moved to California working for the Kaiser Cement Company — and later the Mitsubishi Cement Corporation, before moving to the Boise area in 1996, where he worked for Micron.

Alvin is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Julia Clemson of Meridian; three children, Chelsy Clemson of Meridian, Amanda Clemson of Kuna, Idaho, and Kimberly Clemson of Meridian; and one sister, Jackie King of Georgia. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Jon Clemson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel in Kellogg, Idaho. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. A reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel Gathering Center following services.
