A great time at the Joint Chamber Installation Banquet

WALLACE — It was a night to remember last Friday when the Historic Wallace Chamber of Commerce, along with the Historic Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce, hosted their annual Joint Chamber Installation Banquet in the former Price Tag Antique location inside the Coeur d’Alene Hardware Building.
Several awards were given out by members of the respective chambers, as well as the formal announcement of the new chamber leadership.
Dave Copelan, the director of the Wallace Chamber thought the event went very well and gauged the guest response as positive.
“Our banquet was well received. A full house and nearly sold out,” Copelan said. “A great ambience inside the Coeur d’Alene Hardware Building and people stayed long after the official ceremonies were over, chatting, mingling and doing a little business.”
This opinion was backed up by Sandy Johnson, a chamber member representing Hospice of North Idaho.
"Gosh, Friday night was so lovely. Kudos to your committee,” Johnson said. “The ambiance, music and meal were lovely, and nice to see various citizens honored. So glad I came!"
Rose and Jeremy Holcomb of Flavor Fusion catered the event while blues guitarist John Kelley serenaded the crowd.
Awards given on behalf of HSVCC included:
- Volunteer of the Year — Shoshone County S.A.V.E. Coalition
- Pay it Forward — Logan Jacobson
- Chamber Member of the Year — Kellogg Elks
- Citizen of the Year — Lori Sawyer
- President's Choice — All the fire crews and volunteers who helped with the McConnell fire
- Outgoing president Karen Hulstrom also recognized outgoing board members Juli Zook, Forest VanDorn and Janice Berti for their years of service.
Awards given on behalf of HWCC included:
- Volunteer of the Year — Jim Price
- Chamber Member of the Year — Bonnie DeRoos
- Citizen of the Year — Art Fleming
- Past President’s award — Bonnie DeRoos
- Former Wallace Mayor Dick Vester was also recognized for his contributions to the city and chamber over the years.
