Walter Krulitz, 98

Walter Krulitz, 98, passed away at Palm Springs, California on January 17, 2018, following a short illness. Walter was born at Phoenix, British Columbia, Canada to John Krulitz and Barbara Schaultz on April 28, 1919. His family moved to Mullan, Idaho while he was an infant and he later became a naturalized citizen. He attended school at Mullan and graduated 1937.

Walt resided in Mullan with his wife of 66 years. Doris and walt were married at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Mullan on June 23, 1946. Doris preceded Walt in death on January 26, 2013.

Walt was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served in the China-Burma Theater during World War II.

Walt and his brother, John, owned Krulitz Oil and operated the Mobil gas station and bulk plant in Mullan until his retirement.

Walter and his three brothers all worked with John Sekalich to develop the Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan.

Walt was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Mullan and was a member of the Wallace Elks Lodge for 55 years. He was also a past member of the Mullan City Council, the Morning Club Board and participated with the Silver Valley Seniors weekly meal program in Mullan.

Walt is survived by his daughter, Dianne Krulitz and her husband, Sandy Bracelin, of Palm Springs, California; son, Arney and his wife, Sharon of Mullan, Idaho.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Heltness and Mulchie Albertini; and three brothers, John, Edward and Clem Krulitz.

No services are planned at this time.

The family asks that memorials be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Mullan, Silver Valley Seniors, or the Mullan Museum.
