SCSO investigating robbery at Dayrock
WALLACE — The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) reports that a break-in occurred at the Dayrock bar in Wallace during the early hours of Thursday, Jan. 25. As of Monday afternoon, deputies have had no luck in figuring out who is responsible.
Bar manager Siobahn Curet claims that the male robber gained entry to the establishment through an alleyway access door in the back of the bar.
According to the bar’s surveillance footage, the thief stayed inside the building for nearly half an hour as he raided the bar cooler, the cash register, and snack shelf for some candy bars before exiting the building.
“We don’t have any updates so far,” Curet said on Sunday afternoon. “Not much information other than the guy appeared to be under six feet tall, was wearing a new-era brand flat bill hat with the gold sticker still on it, and jeans. He had his face covered the entire time so we aren’t able to learn much from the surveillance video we have.”
“(It’s) just a very frustrating situation so far. He took cash and some Hershey’s chocolate bars and was in the bar for about 30 minutes as far as we can tell,” she added.
SCSO stated in a news release that due to this being an active investigation, no other details can be provided at this time.
The management at the Dayrock is currently offering a $500 reward for the arrest and conviction of the responsible party.
Anyone with any information should contact the SCSO at (208) 556-1114 and ask to speak to Sgt. Jared Bilaski, who is handling the case.
