Firework sparks Osburn grass fire

OSBURN – Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 29, Shoshone County Fire District No. 1 responded to a grass fire just off Patterson Rd. in Osburn.
The fire crawled up a hill and was contained to estimated 1/8 acre. Idaho Department of Lands then arrived with an engine and crew to take over the incident and mop up.
The fire appears to have been caused by a firework found on scene at the point of origin. No structures were involved and no injuries were reported.
The fire district would like to inform the public to please be cautious with use of fireworks and this still includes ‘legal’ fireworks.
