Arrest made in Dayrock burglary case

WALLACE — The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) reports that a Burke man has been arrested in connection with the burglary of a Wallace business.

On Feb. 28, SCSO deputies and felony probation & parole officers executed an arrest warrant on 29-year old William R. Dry at his home in Burke. In the process of their probation search, officials found Dry found hiding under a pile of laundry and took him into custody without incident.

The warrant was issued as a result of an ongoing investigation into the Jan. 25 burglary of the Dayrock Bar where an individual broke-in and stole an undisclosed amount of money, alcohol and candy bars. Bar manager Siobahn Curet stated that the burglar gained entry to the establishment through an alleyway access door in the back of the bar.

SCSO Captain Jeremy Groves explained that due to other active investigations currently being conducted by the Sheriff’s Office, “Dry was booked on other charges not related to the Day Rock burglary.”

Thursday’s jail booking reports indicate Dry has been charged with possession of fictitious bills, two counts of burglary, grad theft, malicious injury to property, and violating his probation.

Groves told the News-Press that he can not elaborate on the fictitious bills charge or any other incidents Dry may be involved in at this time, but SCSO will release more information at a later time.

The Idaho Repository shows that Dry has a record prior to this incident including several vehicle related infractions/misdemeanors, a felony charge of aggravated battery, a misdemeanor charge of petit theft, and a misdemeanor charge of violating a no contact order.
