KPD Roll Call Feb.20–27
•Tagged nine vehicles and trailers for towed that is scheduled on 2/27/18.
•Towed two vehicles for snow removal. One on North St., another on Upper 3rd. Be aware that night shift may get a phone call about these two because I have been unable to make contact with the registered owners.
•Spoke with a female at the Shoshone apartments regarding a female knocking on everyone’s door.
•Paper service. Neg. contact.
•Motorist assist on Oak and Riverside. Subjects battery had died. Cleared public assist.
•Citizen Contact at the gondolier, subject was waiting for ride. Cleared assist.
•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.
•Took paperwork up to Prosecutor’s Office.
•Follow-up on old cases to see if items needed to be removed from NCIC.
•Follow-up on evidence work scheduling time for destruction.
•Traffic 800 block of Bunker. Verbal for stop sign.
•Citizen contact Short and Riverside- subjects walking around house looking to rent. They had been sent down to look at the residence by Miner’s Hat Realty.
•Attempted civil paper service- negative contact.
•Phone harassment that turned out to be nothing. Suspects phone number was used in one of the spamming calls without their knowledge. After speaking with both parties, they both have a right to be upset, but not at each other. Unfounded.
•Possible CPOR violation- report generated, however investigation is showing this to be unfounded for the time being.
•Attempted follow-up for K77- still no answer at the residence.
•Attempted paper service at Amy Lynn’s. Someone was there but they weren’t answering the door. Cleared negative contact. Next time I think I will announce publishers clearing house, maybe they will answer the door then.
•Follow up for K74 on Legion Ave to pick up statement form. Female subject advised me that she wasn’t done filling out paperwork because she didn’t know how to fill it out without sounding like a complete jerk....I told her to take some more time to fill it out and turn it in when she’s done. Cleared.
•Emphasis patrols of schools- walk through of Kellogg High School with principal as information was relayed.
•Report of juvenile that fled from Kellogg Middle School- prior to arrival, principal had located said student. Contact was made with school and nothing further was needed from LE at this time.
•Several contacts in the front lobby of Kellogg City Hall- all civil/miscellaneous.
•Follow-up for K76 and his arrest from previous evening.
•Traffic stop at the intersection of Hill and Cameron. Verbal warning for running stop sign at McKinley/Hill- Hill/Bunker, following too close and stop sign at Hill/Cameron (with me behind and lights activated). Door-to-door sales working on picking up sales personnel. Advised of license from City hHall needed and sent them on their way.
•Reports/evidence.
•Landline request regarding snow removal vehicles. Directed him to K77 as he had been doing a majority (if not all) of the removals.
•Traffic control- Division and Railroad for Semi that got stuck at intersection.
•Spoke with a motorist that believed the gas pedal was the only thing to use when going through intersections. Advised next time I would cite for Reckless and tow his vehicle. Amazing difference in driving pattern afterwards.
•Traffic control I90 at 50 for vehicle that slid off the road. No damage and not a crash.
•Agency assist in Smelterville for possible assault/trespassing- I canceled myself with the following.
•Traffic stop 2000 block of McKinley for passing on a curve in a no passing zone forcing vehicles off the roadway and/or to stop. Verbal warning given with parents to be notified.
•Welfare check on 500 block of McKinley Ave. Subject code 4 cleared public assist.
•Landline for civil report. Cleared public assist.
•Assist County with locating female from battery call in Smelterville. Cleared agency assist.
•Open door 300 block of Main, cleared creeped out...and I think I still have spider webs on me.
•Traffic stop on McKinley for illegal left hand turn cleared verbal.
•Assist ISP with a crash on I-90. Cleared assist.
•Patrolled the windy snow-covered streets and alleyways.
•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner - Yep....still snowing.
•Spoke with people shoveling snow into the streets.
•Assisted medical at the Mountain Cafe 600 block Bunker Ave- head injury from fall.
•Report of a male subject exposing himself to motorists on the westbound on-ramp at mile post 50. K73 and I contacted male there and found no indication of said acts (no yellow snow) as he was reported to be urinating on roadway). K73 provided a courtesy ride home.
•Patrolled icy streets of Kellogg and Wardner.
•Business check at Fairbridge Inn, Cameron Conoco, Eddie Joe’s.
•Radio Brewing is requesting extra patrol through the alley behind the pub. There’s mischief afoot.
•Worked on reports for the front office.
•Foot patrolled at Kellogg Middle School.
•K77 took a call with at the middle school. May be possibly stemming from K76’s case from last week. Follow up will be conducted.
•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.
•Traffic stop on Cameron Ave. driver had a misdemeanor warrant out of Shoshone County. I let driver make phone call to friend or family so vehicle didn’t have to be towed...Driver then called the person who he has a protection order against. He was then cited for said violation of protection order.
•Business check at Dirty Ernie’s, Fairbridge, Morning Star Lodge, and Cameron Conoco... basically the places open 24 hours.
•Foot patrol at Kellogg Middle School.
•Spoke with an individual regarding a tagged vehicle.
•Worked on follow-up with a threats case at Kellogg Middle School.
•Gave verbal warnings about parking on Main Wardner.
•DUI arrest on Bunker Ave. in parking lot of Morning Star Lodge.
•Foot Patrol at Kellogg Middle School.
•Vehicle crash at the intersection of McKinley Ave & Hill St.
•Took a report of an attempted break-in last night at the Accessory Installation Building across the street from the PD. Suspect attempted to kick in a door on the west side of building. Damage door frame but suspect was unable to gain access to building. Victim is requesting extra patrols in the area at night.
•Old drug evidence taken to State Patrol Building for destruction.
•Our thoughts go out to Officer Charles Hatley of the CDA Police Department for a speedy recovery.
