WALLACE — The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office reported that an Oregon couple were arrested on Friday following a high speed pursuit on Interstate 90.

On the evening of March 2 around 9 p.m., SCSO received a request for assistance from Idaho State Police.

SCSO Captain Jeremy Groves explained that ISP troopers were actively pursuing a stolen vehicle eastbound on Interstate 90 in Kootenai County, and that there was a possibility that it could spill over into Shoshone.

SCSO deputies and Osburn Police Department officers immediately responded to the county line and waited for the suspects. Once they crossed the line, two deputies entered the pursuit while OPD Lt. Jason Woody set up near milepost 44 with spike strips. Once the pursuit reached Woody’s location, he executed a successful deployment of the spike strips and the pursuit came to a stop near milepost 45.

Interstate 90 was temporarily shut down for approximately 15 minutes until the two occupants inside were safely taken into custody.

George Marlow, 30, and Tara Clem, 30, both of Roseburg, Ore., were then booked into Shoshone County Jail by ISP.

Marlow was booked for eluding an officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of less than 3 ounces of marijuana and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia with intent to use. Clem was booked on similar charges that include possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, intent to manufacture/deliver a controlled substance, possession of less than 3 ounces of marijuana, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia with intent to use and criminal conspiracy.
