Violet ‘Vi’ Pearl Carrico, 84

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Violet “Vi” Pearl Carrico, 84, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away March 3, 2018, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was born Aug. 26, 1933, in Gem, Idaho. Vi was the daughter of Everett and Violet Pearl Walker.

Violet has lived in the Silver Valley for most of her life. She attended schools in Burke.

Violet married Tom Carrico Sr. on April 26, 1950, at the United Methodist Church in Wallace, Idaho. Tom Sr. passed away in 1993.

Violet had worked at Albi’s Bowling Alley in Wallace and while residing in Missouri for a short time — she had worked at the Missouri Milk Carton factory. Vi had also worked at the Brooks Hotel in Wallace in cleaning services, Theodore’s Clothing Store in Wallace, Sears store in Wallace, the Stardust Motel in cleaning services and before her retirement, at the Wallace Inn where she served as manager of cleaning services.

Violet loved and enjoyed her family, making quilts (she had made blue jean quilts for all of her grandchildren), embroidery, puzzles and bingo. Vi also enjoyed bowling and had been a member of the Wallace Womens Bowling League and Wallace mixed Bowling Leagues. Violet so loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Violet is survived by four children, Dan and Jenniffer Carrico of Wallace, Barbara and John Walker of Pahrump, Nev., Tom Jr. and Pam Carrico of Mullan, and Tammy Allen of Wallace; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Eleanor Pratt of Hayden, Idaho, Beverly Cornell of Boise, Idaho, Joann Ross of Smelterville, Idaho, Donna Lee Randall of Moab, Utah, and Katherine Stewart of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and one brother, Jerry Walker of Wallace. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and three sisters.

A celebration of Violet’s life and a gathering of family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018, at the Brooks Hotel. This will be a potluck and everyone is welcome.
