New smiles at Bird Family Dental
KELLOGG — Bird Family Dental in Kellogg has recently gone through some ownership changes that have added two new faces to the team. But even with these changes, these new faces want patients to know that they will still receive the same great care they always have.
Dr. Jayson Bird announced in February that he had formed a partnership with Dr. T.J. Scarborough and Dr. Andrew Larson which included five regional dental practices in Kellogg, Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls and St. Maries.
Dr. Bird made the decision to form this partnership so that he and his family could move down south to Idaho Falls and be closer to his family. Although Dr. Bird will continue to make periodic trips back here, much of the responsibilities at the Kellogg office will fall to the incoming Dr. Scarborough and remaining Dr. Steve Rinaldi.
A Vancouver, Wash., native, Dr. Scarborough brings 12 years of private practice dental experience to the table after being a sole proprietor at the Spokane office. His dentistry skills include expertise in endodontics (root canals), implants, same day crowns and smile makeovers with no temporaries; in addition to all aspects of general dentistry. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, four children and dog. Scarborough also has a great appreciation for the outdoors and shows it by fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and hunting.
On top of all that, he and his family are active members in their church and they regularly participate in yearly dental mission trips to areas all over the world that lack proper dental care. He has been providing these services at his own expense for the last decade, and plans to continue to do so for the years to come.
Dr. Larson, who will primarily work out of the Coeur d’Alene and St. Maries offices, brings his own set of skills to round out the new team. Trained in IV sedation for those who are fearful of the dentist, he specializes in wisdom teeth extractions, full mouth extractions and difficult extractions under IV sedation. A native of the Spokane Valley, Larson loves to spend time with his family and is also quite the baseball fan. He and his family also enjoy spending time outdoors.
Scarborough explains that since the formation of the partnership, the group has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in advanced dental technology which includes 3D imaging (allowing for high definition views of target areas of concern) and CAD CAM computer aided design and milling (for same-day crowns, bridges, makeovers and related disciplines). These new devices and services will be available at the Kellogg office.
“We are excited to be serving the Silver Valley,” Scarboroug said. “We love the people and we love dentistry and the opportunity to offer some of the most cutting edge dental technology available.”
