Paul James Charles, Jr. 68

Paul James Charles, Jr., 68, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away March 17, 2018 at the Mountain Valley Cascadia of Kellogg, Idaho. He was born September 3, 1949 in Springfield, Illinois; Paul was the son of Paul J. and Caroline (Swales) Charles, Sr.

Paul attended and graduated from the Auburn High School of Auburn, Illinois in 1968.

Paul loved painting cars. He was also a truck driver and had owned and operated his own business P & R Auto Body of Illinois. Paul had also served as a police officer for the Virden Police Department of Virden, Illinois for five years.

Paul moved to the Silver Valley six years ago from Arkansas.

Paul loved and enjoyed his family, was an avid bowler since he was a teenager and an avid pool player. He was a member of the United States Bowling Congress. Paul also enjoyed playing the card game Ninety-nine with friends and fishing.

Paul is survived by his companion Sunni Reed of Pinehurst, Idaho; three children Paul J. Charles, III of Virden, Illinois, Robert G. Charles of Galesburg, Illinois and Bille Sue Howell of Manchester, Iowa; his blended family of children Melissa Jolliff of Clarkston, Washington, Amanda Keller of Pinehurst, Mark Estes of Hayden, Idaho and Michael Estes of Lewiston, Idaho; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his mother Caroline Charles of Pinehurst; three brothers Vaughn Charles of Smelterville, Idaho, Jack Charles of Little Rock, Arkansas and David Charles also of Little Rock; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his father Paul Charles, Sr.; one brother Chris Charles and one sister Pamela Kinne.

A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held, published and announced this coming Summer.
