| March 26, 2018 2:04 PM

Andrea Ryan, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Mountain Valley of Cascadia after a 7 year struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born December 23, 1943 in Kellogg ID to Sprague C. and Betty Lou (Sawyer) Power. She attended and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1962. She married John Patric Ryan on February 23, 1963 at the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg.

Ande was a versatile and hard working employee at several area business including the Wayside Market in Smelterville, the Carousel Gas Station in Pinehurst, the Kellogg School District as both a substitute teacher and Food Service member. She worked with her uncles over the years with fiberglass manufacturing and at Shoshone Glass in Kellogg. Ande will likely best be remembered for her customer service skills as both EJ’s Pizza and the Shoe Box in Kellogg and finally as the Assistant Activities Director at the nursing home now know as Mountain Valley of Cascadia.

Ande was extraordinarily gifted in interpersonal communication and loved all people. She was unabashed in demonstrating that love regularly, whether it be a hug, a hug & a kiss or just a caring question asking how you are (and listening to the answer). Though, her illness took most of her ability to communicate from her, there were 3 words it could not steal: I love you.

She was a confirmed member of the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg where she participated in the Altar Guild, the Ladies Circle, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. In her free time, Ande enjoyed physical pursuits such as bicycling, walking and tending her yard...just about anything that kept her outdoors and in the sun.

Ande is survived by her husband of 55 years at the family home, her two daughters, Gwen (Christopher) Johnson of Kellogg and Beth (Mike) Haman of Coeur d’ Alene, four grandchildren: Alexander (Amanda) Johnson of Wallace, Danae Johnson of Kellogg, Sarah and Mollie Haman of Coeur d’ Alene, two sisters: Christy (Jeff) Pate of Coeur d’ Alene and Melinda (Danny) Groves of Wardner. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
