KPD Roll Call May 8-15

•Dispatched to a burglary alarm on the 400 block of W. Riverside. K73 and K77 discovered residence was secured and there were no signs of forced entry.

•Called to the park for suspicious activity. After making contact with reporting party, a group of juveniles were asked to stay out of the park after dark.

•Handled a runaway call on the 400 block of S. Division. Juvenile was later located by K73 at SMC. Juvenile was taken into custody and transported to Juvenile Detention Center.

•Multiple 911 calls for a fight in progress on the 100 block of W. Riverside. Upon arrival K73 and K77 discovered about 10 people were involved in some way. After conducting an investigation, one male was arrested for battery and another male was cited and released for battery.

•Assisted K75 with an all-out brawl on Riverside.

•Called to the city park for kids in the park after dark.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Provided transport of juvenile in-custody to SCSO. Completed pre-booking for juvenile runaway.

•Dog placed in pound from county. Found in Kingston at the Kingston Exxon. Female hound/mix.

•Traffic Stop on Hill St. for turn signal. Verbal.

•Welfare check at 110 E Cameron Ave. Person moved out and is over in CDA. Cleared, public assist.

•School patrol.

•Walk-in complaint at the PD about a scam. Person was advised about the steps to take.

•VIN inspection 200 block W Mullan Ave. Cleared, public assist.

•Finished reports.

•Follow up on reports.

•LL request made to H&W. Cleared, other agency assist.

•Agency assist in Smelterville for business alarm. Cleared, other agency assist.

•Attempted 29 service on Tia Lunen. Cleared, negative contact.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Suspicious activity on Cameron Ave. near Dave Smith. Checked the area and was unable to locate the vehicle. Cleared, unable to locate (UTL).

•Foot patrol with K75 on Main St. and W. Portland. Checked on buildings.

•Continued follow-up on my cases.

•Attempted to locate a suspicious person on W. Cameron Ave. near Dave Smiths. Subject was gone on arrival.

•Arrested Steel Reserve Man in Yokes parking lot. Individual was charged with trespassing and a city ordinance violation for Disorderly Conduct-Drunkenness.

•Check on the Community Center to ensure the building was secured.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Intoxicated pedestrian urinating on buildings heading south on Hill St. from Cameron Ave. area. Located subject in Yoke’s parking lot. K77 arrested for Trespassing (trespassed November of 2017) and Kellogg City Ordinance - Drunkenness (Disorderly Conduct). Not sure how he walked as far as he did, as he needed to be held up and lifted into the patrol vehicle.

•Attempt to locate possible DUI Eastbound from MP 40 on I-90. ISP, County and both Kellogg units were UTL.

•Traffic stop on Cameron Ave. for no turn signal. Verbal.

•School patrol.

•Bike patrol.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Evidence.

•Assist K76 with traffic stop on Cameron Ave. Cleared, other agency assist.

•Vandalism at Kellogg City Park. No damage done. Cleared, verbal warning.

•Citizen contact regarding lost dog. Dog was brought to KPD from Wallace. Dog was reunited with its owner. Cleared, public assist.

•Report of uncontrollable juvenile. Cleared, unfounded.

•Placed dog into pound from 1220.

•Idaho State Police witnessed a vehicle running into parked cars at Dave Smith Motors at the intersection of Hill and Brown. As ISP activated their lights, the driver took off. Driver led law enforcement on a chase throughout the entire city, leaving quite the wake of destruction. Critical Incident occurred and driver attempted to re-enter the Interstate not making it past the metal guardrail. He left his vehicle and went on foot. Tracking/apprehension K9 was requested from Coeur d’Alene and updates on locations were coming in. Subject was later located and detained near Shoshone Medical Center and was subsequently taken to Shoshone County Jail.

During this time, Kootenai County Detectives were called in to take over investigation and crash investigation/reconstruction. Assisted in this process by obtaining all information for vehicles/owners involved to give to KCSO.

•Assisted KCSO retrieve vehicle information from Dave Smith.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Attempted 29 service on 100 Block of Presley Ave. Cleared, UTL.

•Foot patrol 500 block of W. Riverside.

•LL request for previous stolen bike report. Cleared, public assist.

•Dog taken to pound from County.

•Suspicious activity 500 block of W. Mission. Unfounded.

•Party reported three miles up Silver Mountain (Sierra Nevada). As county was going this, they located suspected party-goers in Wardner on the flat top. No signs of alcohol, fire was put out and people were going home.

•Disturbance 600 block of W. Cameron, Domestic. Parties separated and report taken for information.

•Dispatched to Rails to Trails almost in Smelterville for camper beside the trail. Male was packing up upon my arrival.

•Trespassed Steele Reserve Man from 400 block Railroad.

•Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.

•Foot patrol on Hill St., S Division, Mission, Mullan, Riverside, Bunker, Railroad, McKinley and E. Portland.

•Report of dog bite. Cleared, public assist.

•Dispatched to an intoxicated person walking on Cameron Ave. and Cedar St. UTL.

•Dispatched to a suspicious vehicle at the Dave Smiths accessories install building. It appeared someone had left their car door open. Closed door, cleared public assist.

•While on the suspicious vehicle call, K73 was dispatched to Silver Mt for two people unresponsive in the parking lot. Dispatch advised that they were surrounded by caution tape. When K73 arrived, it looked like a crime scene that had been cordoned off. A male and female were lying on the ground with people standing outside of the “crime scene tape”. Only thing missing was the white chalk lines around the bodies. Not sure who put up the tape or why they felt the need to put the tape up, but not call 911. The 911 caller said that he found them with the tape already put up. Turns out they were not dead, but really drunk. Once they were woke up, both became belligerent and the female even tried to run away (not very well mind you). Both earned a ride to Wallace to sober up.

•While at the SCSO K73 was dispatched to Steel Reserve man on Bunker Ave. as he was refusing to leave an apartment. I was able to locate him walking (more like stumbling) on Railroad Ave. and he also earned a ride to Wallace to sober up.

•Called to Silver Mt. Parking lot for loud music coming from a car in the parking lot. Found said car and asked them to turn off the music. Cleared, peace restored.

•Dispatched to 100 block of Cathryn Ave. which was a forwarded from Kootenai County. Call was about a possible domestic. Upon arrival, parties were already separated and was not physical. Cleared, public assist.

•Dispatched to 200 block of Elder Ave. about a marmot stuck in the engine compartment of a vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined the marmot was in fact stuck and I wasn’t going to be sticking my hand in there to try to get it out. Wished the marmot luck on trying to find his way out of that one. Cleared, necessary action taken (NAT).

•Called to assist county with open door on Main St. in Smelterville. Building secured and cleared. Agency assist.

•While at the Cameron Conoco, I observed a vehicle pull through with severe damage to the right passenger side. Apparently, the vehicle had struck a Moose. Dispatch was advised, ISP wanted to speak with said driver. Something about hitting the moose back at MP 25 and waiting until getting to Kellogg to report it. Cleared, other agency assist.

•Citizen Contact x2 next to Eddie Joes.

•Citizen contact 600 block of South Division.

•Talked to the lady panhandling in the yokes parking lot.

•Dispatched to Kellogg Super Stop for an intoxicated male inside the store. Upon arrival, K77 observed Steel Reserve man inside who matched the description. Arrested the male for city ordinance violation Disorderly Conduct - Drunkenness. Male was also arrested for trespassing on Conoco property.

•Assisted County units with an attempt to locate a possible suicidal male. Searched for the individual in the suspected area, but was unable to locate the male. Later on, K77 located the individual driving on East Cameron Ave. Stopped the individual and after an extensive investigation, determined the individual was not suicidal.

•Traffic stop on S Division for no plate. Cleared, verbal.

•Traffic stop on Hill St. for fail to yield. Cleared, verbal.

•Assist K77 with Steel Reserve Man.

•Received information on whereabouts about a female subject with two felony warrants. Tried going to location where subject was supposed to be, but had negative contact.

•Suicidal subject driving around in car near Galena ridge/McKinley. Subject was eventually located by K77 and conducted a traffic stop with him into the Cameron Conoco. Established the subject wasn’t suicidal and was not a danger to himself. Cleared, public assist.

•Traffic stop on 300 block of W Cameron for no turn signal. Cleared, verbal.
