Bettie (nee Zanetti) Harrington

Our beloved Mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great grandma passed away quietly on May 17, 2018.

Bettie was born on April 21, 1926 in Wallace, Idaho to Pete and Harriett Zanetti. She attended a one room school at the Jack Wait where she graduated from 8th grade. She then attended Wallace High School and graduated in 1944.

Bettie loved to bake cookies, care for her many pets, do crossword puzzles, play bingo and travel. Bettie enjoyed many ocean cruises with her husband Jerry and cousins Bill & Joan Zanetti.

Later in life, Bettie’s greatest joy was spending her summers at the family property along the Coeur d’Alene River. She could be found enjoying a beer with her feet in the water while watching the antics of her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bettie was a proud and active member of the Wallace-Burke Methodist Church. She was a charter member of the Wallace Lady Elks, where she had served as president and chaplain. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Bettie worked on the election board and was a volunteer at the Inland Blood Bank for many years.

Bettie is survived by her sons Jim & wife Mary of Sandpoint, Idaho, Jerry & wife Marjeane of New Port, Washington, daughter Lucille & husband Dick Smith of Spokane Valley, Washington, John & stepdaughter Teresa of Otis Orchards, Washington, Jeff & partner John Tomes of Saint Regis, Montana, stepdaughter Pat Harrington and stepson Mike Harrington, 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchiren and 2 great-great-grandchild.

Bettie is preceded in death by her parents Pete & Harriett Zanetti, husband Jerry, son Frank Jr. Taylor, grandchildren Katie Jean Taylor and Shane Euell.

She was also a breast cancer survivor.

We will miss you, Mom. We know you will be waiting for us by the river that flows by the throne of God!

Services will be held at the Wallace-Burke United Methodist Church on Pine Street in Wallace, Idaho on Saturday June 2nd 2018 at 11:00A.M. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at the Wallace Elks following the service.
