Veronica Irene Spotts, 81
Veronica Irene Spotts, age 81, of Pinehurst, Idaho passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Caldwell Care of Cascadia nursing home in Caldwell, Idaho. Roni, as she was known by family and friends, was born on October 31, 1937 in Corning, New York, to Michael and Helen (Bobrick) Bonik, and was the second born of three children. She graduated high school from the School for the Blind in Batavia, New York. Roni went on to graduate from Boise State University with a Master of Social Work.
On May 8, 1971, Roni married Richard B. Spotts of Gillett, Pennsylvania; together they enjoyed church, country and western music, books, biking and gardening. In the early 1970’s, Dick and Roni could be heard performing in their country and western band at local establishments around Gillett, Pennsylvania. Roni had many passions and simple pleasures; she treasured reading, ceramics, puzzles, the Seattle Mariners, crocheting and her beloved dog, Tuffy. She owned and operated a Christian book store in Boise, Idaho and later, a ceramic shop in Pinehurst, Idaho.
Roni is survived by three children Dannette (Bob) Sparling of Bath, New York, Randy (Patty) Sparling of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Michelle (Laura) Sparling of Herndon, Virginia; five grandchildren Angie (Jay) Harrison, Joshua Bredderman, Alia Abdullah, Ryan Sparling and Connor Sparling; two great grandchildren Caitlyn Mae and Mazzy Star; uncle and aunt John and Shirley Bobrick; brother Thomas Bonik; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Roni was preceded in death by her beloved parents, daughter Dawn Marie, huband Richard B. Spotts, and sister Mary Ann Magura.
Roni will be remembered as a bright, cheerful, soul in her communities and churches she served.
Cremation was held and upon her request no services will be held.
