Fallen Saints, higher calling

During the holiday season several local groups stepped up to help those in need. One of those groups, however, is cut from a slightly different cloth.

For the last five years, the Silver Valley chapter of the Fallen Saints Motorcycle Club has done a turkey drive benefiting local veterans.

Once again this year, the group has put others before themselves and added another 50 turkeys to the staggering 200 they have already given over the years.

Part of this being one of the bigger years for the club was the addition of first responders to the list of people that they donated turkeys to.

“We had trucks out driving to every firehouse and police station to drop off turkeys,” Fallen Saints Western USA Region President Anvil said.

Anvil believes that charitable acts and selfless giving are what defines a member of the club.

“In this day and age, it’s difficult to find a group willing to put something before themselves week in and week out,” Anvil said. “The Saints expose everyone’s strengths and weaknesses and try to make each other better as a citizen and as a man.”

Anvil has enjoyed watching the Silver Valley chapter grow from one guy all the way to what it is now, but even more so, has enjoyed watching his fellow club members evolve into the charitable-minded people they are now.

“It’s very humbling to watch the machine evolve from just me to over 100 and all the good that has come out of it,” Anvil said. “Thousands of citizens have been shown love and support through the Western Saint Nation on a yearly basis.”

The Silver Valley Fallen Saints have made it their primary goal of taking care of the local veterans and giving back to them and their fellow citizens.

The turkey drive and giveaway is just one of the holiday charities the group facilitates.

“We also sponsor families for Christmas,” Anvil said with a smile. “We will find a hardworking, drug free family with children who are down on their luck and surprise them with too many gifts to count.”

The Silver Valley chapter also works with the Spokane chapter to put on a massive toy drive each year that benefits children throughout the region.
