Kellogg Police Department Roll Call: Nov. 13-20
- Hope every one had a Safe and Fulfilling Thanksgiving.
- Landline request about a fraud call RP did not answer the phone when called. No voice mail set up.
- Called to the Amy Lynn’s for a male sleeping on the sidewalk/parking lot. Subject was fine just taking a nap while waiting for a friend to pick him up.
- Called to Cameron Avenue for a possible unresponsive male. When K75 and K73 arrived along with medical, the male was starting to come back from the place you go when you huff canned air. Not sure where that is, nor do I want to find out. Said male was cited for possession of marijuana, as he had it sitting on his coffee table in plain sight.
- Citizen contact requested at FairBridge. Subject that was removed from bus last night was unable to catch a new bus this evening. He was wanting to know if we could stop the bus to tell them to turn around and pick him up (no). Public assist as this is an issue between the party and the company.
- Extra patrols, no traffic on Legion.
- Paper service 700 block McKinley Avenue. Cleared, paper served.
- Assist K77 with Hit and run crash. Suspect later came to the PD. Cleared, agency assist.
- LL regarding drug traffic. Cleared, public assist.
- Citizen contact at Kellogg Police Department regarding reports. Cleared, public assist.
- Took a vehicle crash report that occurred around midnight near Railroad Avenue and the City Park. Diver of the car did not admit openly that she crashed due to her being intoxicated, but she did not deny it when asked. Her first story was a cigarette fell into her lap and that is why she crashed. Keep in mind this female drove through a concrete barrier at a high rate of speed (off Railroad Avenue), then drove 80 more yards into the park, then hit a tree and fled the scene. So yeah … K77 didn’t buy that story. Said driver was cited for leaving the scene and failure to notify.
- Took a landline request. Reporting party informed me they did not need law enforcement assistance anymore.
- City ordinance enforcement/education 100 block of W. Mission.
- Extra patrols at Legion, Bunker, Railroad and Mission.
- Three verbal warnings for parking on Main in Wardner (all had just arrived and were not there long).
- Follow up on juvenile case.
- Follow up for K72 regarding FTC fraud.
- Took a dog into the pound today.
- VIN inspection at Bunker Mine. Cleared, public assist.
- Conducted a civil standby on the 300 block of McKinley Avenue.
- Citizen contact at City Hall. Individual was initiating follow-up on a case.
- Assisted K74 with a traffic stop on Silver Valley Road.
- Knocked out a few reports.
- Traffic stop 51 Silver Valley Road. Verbal for expired registration and white light to rear. Cite and release for possession of controlled substance (marijuana under 3 ounces) and possession of paraphernalia.
- Attempt to locate erratic driver that exited at 49. Described only as a silver SUV and exited 5 minutes prior to airing, UTL (Unable to Locate).
- Traffic stop 100 block of Legion. Verbal warning for no taillight on a four-wheeler, driver possibly invalid but unknown as the return did not make sense. Verbal warning on the infraction.
- Follow up on some cases.
- Traffic stop on Riverside and N. Division for one rear working tail light. Cleared, verbal.
- Traffic stop into Cameron Conoco parking lot for expired registration. After running the plates on the vehicle, the plates were coming back to a different car. Driver was cited for driving without privileges and fictitious plates. Cleared, citation issued.
- Traffic stop on airport road near exit 48 for obstructed plates. Cleared, verbal.
- K72 observed a mustang with no plates driving aggressively on E. Cameron. As K72 turned around to try and get behind the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop, the driver started to speed up to elude him. Initiated his emergency lights and the vehicle sped off down E. Portland at rates of 60-65 mph. Followed vehicle to 700 block of Ross Ranch Rd where the vehicle turned into a parking lot and continued into a dirt road. Lost sight of vehicle for a brief moment and found it blacked out in one of the clearings along said dirt road. Arrested suspect.
- Dispatched to an animal complaint on the 200 block of Elder. Individual was injured while breaking up a dog fight. Medical personnel arrived on scene and patched them up.
- Citizen contact at the PD. Individual wanted me to know about a parking complaint. Individual was updated on city ordinances.
- Called to a citizen contact at the Hill Street Conoco, incident occurred in post falls and had questions, was advised to contact them. Cleared, public assist.
- Called to Silver Mountain for welfare check on an intoxicated subject. Subject was found and she went to bed. Cleared, public assist.
- Assisted Idaho State Police at the Trail Motel. Male left a crash scene with a female out in Rose Lake and they were found here at the trail. Detained until Idaho Staten Police arrived. Cleared, other agency assist.
- Assisted county with unknown injury crash in Pinehurst. Vehicle was abandoned and 1226 located lots of items in the vehicle, it was ditched in a front yard. Cleared, other agency assist.
- Cleared crash call to go to a verbal domestic in the 300 block of E. Idaho. It was just a verbal argument. Cleared, peace restored and separated the parties.
- Citizen contact in the 300 block of Cameron Avenue with a suspicious male just walked down to use the Wi-Fi at Dave Smith. Cleared, Necessary Action Taken (NAT).
- Attempt To Locate (ATL) for a late ’80s or ’90s Chevy pickup from a hit and run crash in the county. UTL.
- Extra patrol on Presley Avenue.
- Called to a found firearm on Station Avenue. Yes it was a real pistol. Cleared, property recovered for safe keeping.
- Called to Silver Mountain for a suspicious circumstance call. It was reported that a guest had heard a young boy yell that his mom was dead and started crying. Made contact with said mother and she was alive and well. Cleared, unfounded.
- Assisted K76 with a verbal domestic on the 300 block of E. Idaho. Parties were separated.
- A short time later, K77 got another call to the same residence of the 300 block of E. Idaho. Reporting party said the other half returned to the home. Upon arrival, the individual left the area and K77 was unable to locate. Took the other individual to another location as to avoid conflict.
- Assisted county with a vehicle chase coming off the Fourth of July Pass. Vehicle was stopped before reaching county lines.
- Citizen contact at the PD. Individual wanted me to speak with children about seat belt safety.
- Citizen contact via landline with the Crisis Center regarding the verbal domestic.
- Evidence work.
- Catch up on reports. E impact report.
- Welfare check at the Silver Mountain parking lot. A husky was in a car but no people. The husky was NOT cold. Cleared, unfounded.
- Called to a citizen contact in the yokes parking lot, possible domestic happened however after a lengthy investigation it was deemed unfounded due to varying circumstances. Cleared.
- Courtesy transport from Shoshone Medical Center to a residence on Mill Street. Cleared, public assist.
- Extra patrol around the railroad building.
- Extra patrol for male staying at the FairBridge as his car had a flat tire and he had expensive items in the back.
- Motorist assist on the 50 on ramp, he was just catching some sleep before he continued traveling.
- Called to 900 block S. Division for unlawful entry. Cleared, unfounded.
- Citizen contact at Kellogg Police Department regarding found handicap placard. Placard was returned to owner. Cleared, public assist.
- Patrolled Kellogg and Wardner.
- Citizen contact at Kellogg Police Department regarding NCO violation. Cleared, unfounded.
- Two parking tickets for parking within 15 feet of hydrant. Prior warnings were given.
- Called to assist county in Wallace with a male with a knife, they assisted the same male with running out of fuel near Pinehurst earlier. Cleared, other agency assist.
- Called to Pinehurst for a domestic to assist county, it was some Kellogg residence and a domestic that didn’t happen. Cleared, other agency assist.
- Related to the county call, they wanted a civil standby so the male party could collect his belongings out of the home here in Kellogg. Cleared, public assist.
- Contacted owners of a trailer on Mullan Avenue, their trailer was in a fenced backyard and the trailer door was open. He advised me that the trailer settles and sometimes the door pops open, nothing was taken and it was secured. Cleared, public assist.
- Parking ticket for parking within 15 feet from fire hydrant.
- Extra patrols and house watches conducted. Extra patrols on Mission and Mullan. 400 block = 30-plus minutes, no vehicles. Extra patrol Legion, no vehicles. Shoshone Medical Center seems to be an open range as there are deer and elk/moose collections in the “yard” and on Riverside/Mission/Cameron area.
- Reports and evidence.
- Fire call north of I-90 between 48/49. After arriving to the area, it was west of 48 (not in Kellogg) on the mountainside to the north of the airport. Cleared.
- Report of unresponsive male subject 10 block of Kellogg Avenue. Subject was OK (sleeping and/or intoxicated), opted to go with family for medical treatment. Refer to other agency (medical).
- Called to the 400 block of West Mullan Avenue for fraud. Cleared, unfounded.
