WALLACE — The Wallace Miner football team is proud to announce that senior wide receiver Triston Neubauer was named as an honorable mention to the Whitepine League all-league team.

Neubauer gutted out the Miners rough season and made an impact on both sides of the ball, but was one of the primary weapons used by the Miners throughout the season.

“It was a tough year,” Neubauer said. “I wish we could have won more, but we worked hard.”

The season was a tougher one for the Miners who finished 1-8, despite coming into the season with veteran team.

“We battled a lot of injuries,” Neubauer said. “We won our first game, but then it seemed like things went the wrong way for us.”

Neubauer now heads into basketball, where he will play an integral role on a Miner team that should have State Tournament aspirations if they can figure out their play-in game at the end of the year.

“I think we should be pretty good,” Neubauer said. “I think football definitely did a good job keeping me in shape.”

To all his football teammates though, Neubauer hopes they don’t see this season as a reason to come out and play again next year.

“I would tell the guys next year to not give up and to keep on pushing,” Neubauer said.
